Check out my Playlist!

You're making a TikTok for SCHOOL?!  (<----Click the Link Please!)

Roaming/ searching around with YouTube is not exactly new territory for me, but posting and creating with it is. Last semester, I was very surprised at how easy it was for me to edit and post a read aloud I had made. I played, re-recorded, critiqued, and fretted this assignment for a week, even all through a summer vacation.. ( drove the kiddos 14 hours to Destin Florida ). On the day I posted it to YouTube, I quickly realized its abilities. Next time, I'll skip the third party apps.

So, for this assignment, I am adding things to a playlist.. come to find out.. I already had several playlists and I didn't even realize! One thing I had encountered with the YouTube playlists is that, when I'm trying to save videos that I want to include in my daily slides for lessons- It will NOT let me save it to a playlist. Hmmm..  like for example: In my fourth grade RLA class, we are about to write our first paragraph. So, after I teach the HQIM of course, I may show a short vid of, "How to write a paragraph," for kids- with the intentions of also linking an EdPuzzle into my Google Classroom over the steps. YouTube has a safety net installed that will not allow you to save videos that are intended for children as the audience- to a playlist.

...................................................................I.N.T.E.R.E.S.T.I.N.G.............................................................

While some of you may not think its too surprising- My mind goes immediately to the ( Mother of three, educator, diagnosed with severe panic disorder) WORST reasons why this is in place. Nonetheless, I am glad its there for so many reasons that I know you do not want to hear about!

Back to the assignment. Hopefully your able to view my quick TikTok- showing my YouTube playlists. I am just now realizing that there are still a lot of people- at least in my circle- who do not use "CHINESE SPY WARE" (Click my YouTube link to bypass TikTok).  I wanted to make this into a TikTok, Because playing with Capcut has been a web 2.0 favorite of mine, and my biggest perception of this assignment execution was to make a duet. I'm sure I could've just recorded my screen and voiced over- but that wasn't the vibe today!

Thanks for reading!

BTW: I used the title, "You're making  TikTok for SCHOOL?!" Because, while my boys were at football practice FOR 2 HRS/ 4 DAYS A WEEK - I'm sitting in the grass on a blanket. In the grass. And the sun.. with a gentle breeze.. researching and schooling- (It's a rough life.. I know) and when they walk up to me.. and I'm making screen recordings and TikToks- their minds were blown! LOL

Teaching with Technology

Teaching 4 th grade with Technology   A few years ago as part of a teaching incentive program, we were challenged to add a new technology from a list of approved platforms into our classrooms during stations. I chose to use SeeSaw, and I have been using it ever since! It’s a fun and free website that teachers can create, share and assign engaging lessons on the student’s computers. One of my favorites that I use every year was created by another teacher. It’s a very simple poetry practice. There are several words in boxes that the students can drag and drop into place to create their own poem. I have edited my copy to change the theme from time to time. For example, the original template has fall leaves in the back ground and all of the words are related to fall. This year we are just starting poetry in February, so I have edited the assi...

My understanding of Blogs:

Testing  Tech Play 1  After MANY hours of research, I have decided that blogs are best defined as short web logs. It’s a bit like an online journal of personal growth. There are many forms a blog can take, and most are not entirely private. Instead they’re created for an audience, in my case- a teacher. A very valuable quality that blogs hold, is the ability to capture moments and record them in a timeline for ever... per say. Because, truly, once its on the web, isn't it always accessible? If we use the log with fidelity, we will be able to watch ourselves or our students grow in more ways than imaginable!
